You're A Natural

Why a consumer intelligence platform uses AI

Most of us already care. We know about climate change, about plastic, about chemicals we'd rather not bring home. But caring isn't the same as knowing. At the shelf, we're left with labels like "natural", "eco" and "non-toxic", and no way to tell which ones hold up.

Awareness needs knowledge. To judge a product properly, you'd need to read the regulations behind its claims and the scientific research on its materials, compare them with what the label says, and see where they don't match. Almost nobody has time for that. That's the gap You're A Natural exists to close. We bring the consumer intelligence people need to make their own judgement.

That work is only possible with AI, and with a system built to be checked, not trusted. Every Insight Report follows the same published framework: what the standard requires, what the evidence shows, what the shelf says, and where they diverge. Every claim is traced to a primary source: regulatory texts, peer-reviewed papers, official guidance. Before release, each report passes multiple independent quality gates, and a blind adversarial review that challenges its conclusions without seeing the reasoning behind them.

The system can, and does, conclude "no gap found". It states uncertainty where the evidence is unclear. When we get something wrong, we correct it within published timescales and note the correction on the report. People set the methodology, the quality standards and the publication criteria it runs on. Our Methodology →

Our reports don't tell you which brand to buy. They show you what to look for, so the judgement is yours.

The trade-off we're making

We hold everything we cover to one rule: tell the whole picture, including the parts that aren't sustainable. So we apply it to ourselves.

The data centres that run AI raise genuine concerns about electricity and water use. For a platform about sustainable choices, that's a tension we take seriously, and we won't gloss over it.

We use AI because informed choices are where change starts. Without it, we could investigate far fewer products and answer far fewer questions. We believe putting that knowledge in people's hands does more good than the footprint of the AI work behind it. That's our judgement, not a measured result, and we treat it as one.

We don't claim our use of AI is green, carbon-neutral or offset. We'll revisit this as better information on AI's real footprint becomes available.

What our AI agents do

Produce our Insight Reports under our published methodology, find partners who share what we stand for, and answer questions about working with us.

What they don't do

  • Pretend to be human. Our agents have first names so they're easy to talk to, and each one tells you it's an AI.
  • Make decisions outside the limits we set for them. Those come to our founder.

Corrections

If you think any part of our analysis is inaccurate or incomplete, contact research@youreanatural.com. Our response times and correction process are set out in Our Methodology.

People stay in charge

Our founder sets the rules our agents work by and handles anything they pass on. If you'd rather deal with a person, reply to any email from our agents and say so. We'll pass it to our founder.

Your information

Our privacy notice explains how we handle personal data, including that we don't allow AI services to train on it.
